Homeless Couple Uses 4 year old Son to Panhandle The Streets of San Francisco

Apparently, the FREE services they were offered weren’t to their liking and using their son to play on the sympathy of passers by was a much quicker way to get cash for their meth:

“Gavin deserves a chance in life,” said Mary Long, who began a crusade to improve Gavin’s and his mother Toni’s life after seeing them at the Embarcadero BART Station. “He wasn’t getting one being used as a panhandler tool by his chronically homeless mom.”

City officials say the family was repeatedly offered beds, services and child care. But their offers, they say, were rebuffed, and people like Long kept seeing Gavin panhandling.

Friday I spotted Toni panhandling on Market Street, with a sign that said, “Stranded. Homeless. Please Help.” I asked her where Gavin was.

“He’s in summer camp,” she said promptly.

No, he’s not. He is being evaluated for a foster home. This is an intervention. There will be a hearing later this month to determine if Gavin can stay with his mother and father. They need to show that they have a better plan for him than panhandling on Market Street.

Just before they decided that Scott Peterson should be put to death, they wanted one more look at his pregnant wife and what he had done to her.

The jurors looked at the autopsy photos and at a pretty picture of the 27- year-old Laci Peterson wearing her holiday best. Then they were ready.

After 11 hours and 30 minutes of deliberations, the jury decided Monday that Peterson, 32, should die in San Quentin’s death chamber for murdering his wife and their unborn child. The verdict marked the end of a six-month trial that became a national obsession.

The jury, Morton said, had unanimously voted to “fix the penalty at death. “

There were no gasps, groans or emotional outbursts from either Scott or Laci Peterson’s families. Rocha put her head down and quietly sobbed. Juror No. 9 wiped tears from her eyes. Peterson showed no emotion.

At least four jurors looked at Laci Peterson’s mother, Sharon Rocha. Some winked and gave her quick nods.

Outside the courthouse, hundreds of people remained roped off from the entrance steps by yellow police tape. With televisions and radios tuned to hear an audio feed of the verdict, some cheered as the death recommendation was read.

Delucchi thanked the jurors for their six months of service and praised their diligence.

“This is the way you saw it,” he told them. “This is the way it is.”

The jurors were told they could now discuss the case and were excused. As they walked out, passing Peterson on their way, Juror No. 11 looked him in the face and kept going.

She did it for the money? Really? DOH!

Of course she did it for the money.  And the attention.  That is what Sarah Palin is all about:  Sarah Palin.

This isn’t rocket science, after all.  Just ask Sarah.  Back in September 2008 she was saying “It’s $6 million and 53 employees.” 

By November 2008 she discovered how truly wonderful she was and no longer had time to govern the state of Alaska.

Now it’s too stressful.  Now that she has other more lucrative offers and ways to draw more attention to herself.  Some of the attention she is drawing is proving her reasons for resigning to be false.  (Sarah Palin lying?!  Say it ain’t so!)

I find her idiotic AND disgusting.
